I don't think you need be too downhearted. There's nothing there that can't be put right quite easily. It needs a little bit of work, that's all.

I doubt that they're Viet - it actually looks like they've been stripped and painted (rattle can) with little prep, there's surface rust under light scratches and the definition of the folds looks clean. In short, they don't look full of filler. quote]
Have to agree, you can see from the back of the panels that they have.nt been hand beaten.

barry are you in the uk?how much have you paid?how much delivery from nz? these are the questions that i would be taking into consideration, the scooter looks ok but needs restoring, some bits need replacing but on the whole it looks ok. if the panals are vn what does it matter when you get it restored after all it is over 40 years old!!!

I'm in Australia & from what I have been reading I am more than 95% in the clear as far as the panels are concerned, which is nice to know, sadly, the dealers we have here in Australia will tell you anything to sell you a new part! Thats why I asked all these questions & it vindicated what I had already thought, it's 90 odd % Italian with some unusual add ons!
I am intending stripping this SX & doing a complete retso.
A while ago I bought an Li150 here is OZ that was supposed to be the beneficiary of a s**t load of engine parts I bought from MB Development - Race Tour 195 kit, Race Tour exhaust, Variatronic, BGM shockers, new carb & barings/seals etc...
Now the SX will get all that and most of what I take out of the SX engine will go in the Li.
I'll more than likely go on the hunt for a NOS front fork as I want to chrome it & likely sell the S2 one thats on the SX at the moment.
Plus I'd like stick an original Innocenti Front Disc (or a good copy) similar to the SX 200 version, not really keen on the ones that force you to drill holes in the head set.
Thanks again to everyone for the help, most appreciated.
