bloody headlight was spinning

forgot to add the filaments on an osram (never checked other makes) distance from mounting face was the same as an ordinary bulb in headlamp holder so beam pattern is the same as normal

Hi, I'm wondering how the H4 bulbs have been working out with the guys that did the conversion?
As there been any issues or problems?
Is there any problems disapating the heat from the bulb, any colour change on the headset/reflector glass etc.
I hope to fire up my convereted headlight up soon.

I haven't had any problems at all with my H4 conversions. I've have the lamp holder out several times over the 2 years its been in there (sorting other wiring issues) so it's been disturbed a lot. I run with my headlamp on all the time and the £2.99 H4 55/60 from the local accessory shop is still fine. Unfortunately the other scoot with the Night Brreaker in is off the road so hasn't been used recently but it had also been totally reliable. I have some pics of the converted bulb holder I can send you if you pm me an email address. I have posted them before but can't find the thread now and I'm have trouble with my photobucket

no probs at all with heat or vibration, use flickr colin, photo bucket lost all the pics i had uploaded of my lasty holiday with annes mum before she died, totally irreplaceable

Hi Mark pictures look good, can i ask what hid kit you used as i would like to do something similar on my series 1 project.

the halogen is just an osram night breaker 60/55w h4 and the hid is just a generic kit for a m/c but is ilegle to use as you need a clear e marked lens and a parabolic relector which are both hard to get , i have the reflector but not the lens. it blinds other drivers as the light rays come out at all angles on a std reflector. if you are a wreckless soul here is a wiring diagram for it

this is similar to the hid i fitted

byron wired it for me and put all the workings in the std lambretta toolbox and used an extension wire for headlight power and a relay to switch from dip to main

Ok i didn't realise you couldn't use them in a standard glass and reflector...

I am more than happy with my h4 halogen in fact I have fitted a 35/35 h4 halogen to my dac and to my wife's skelly as these run considerably more add ons to the dc circuit than my series 1. The 35/35 h4 is of a gts poof ped if you want to go this route.
