Never mind mate,s**t happens.Is there enough tap left to weld a nut to it? even if there is only a small stub left you can MIG a nut on and with plenty of lube gently ease it out-hopefully

Worth a try is 'nt it? Try an M4 nut for fit,you have nothing to lose.

Mig Welding a nut on to a broken tap will just brake off because taps are so brittle only thing you can do is replace pin with new or get a small piece off hack saw blade and go round the inside of cir-clip groove and try again with cir-clip i had same problem worked for me cir-clip stayed on

I've also seen SS threaded (non-weld) brake pedal pivot pins. Cut off old pin and these simply tap in (locktiting threads). Can't for the life of me find the site I came across them on, but I remember thinking they looked like a cracking tidy fix. Perhaps someone else will know of them, if I manage to find I'll post link.

I got a small gasless mig in the summer second hand and can recommend them. With a bit of practice you can get a really good looking weld.
Light years ahead of arc/stick welding which I found was always very hit and miss with blobs and splatter all over the place.
