Absolute feckin rubbish- any one who actually pays that sort of cash must need examining.
How much...

Sadly I have to agree. If some nutcase is prepared to bay £1500 quid for some old tat then fair play to the bloke making money off them.

I wish I had some to sell
if some folk are willing to pay that sort of money for those items...then thats what they are worth to them ,simple as.

We had a born again mod turn up at our club the other week on a GS 160. His Mrs following in a people carrier. Nice enough bloke. But I started losing the will to live when he started on about the price of his shiny fittings. One pair of lights cost him £600 plus another £200 to have them rechromed. Tit.. He then went on about a Jimmy replica he had comissioned.
Each to their own.

it completely amazes me why someone would pay vast amounts of money for what i would consider shite...but they do ..frequently.
but then its all down to ones perception of what is junk and what is treasure i suppose.
personally i would not even want those silly chrome things anyway ,and so they are somewhat worthless to me...
and personally i,d much rather spend that £1500 on tuning/ performance goodies etc...
but having said that ,i can also understand that if someone is really desperately seeking these so called rare items ,and so persieves them as a rare and unique treasure ,and to them a desirable thing to have.. that they may pay whatever to get them...as they may be hard to find.
its a supply and demand thing.
still,...i,d be well suprised that the buyers aquisition of these would futher increase his scooters value by the cost...
if i wanted some ...i would get some new ones made at maybe a fraction of the cost of those...

Have to agree with all of the above but i cant help feeling that the guy is not to dissimilar to a ticket tout. You can bet your ass that he didnt pay £800 of them and then put them up for £1500. Hes got these of someone like you or me who would ask maybe £100 and then ramped them up by a 1000%.sean brady scooters wrote:it completely amazes me why someone would pay vast amounts of money for what i would consider shite...but they do ..frequently.

I think we're all on pretty thin ice talking about what is and isn't a waste of money. Just how much money have we all spent on what any sane person would consider to be crap over the years.

Indeed, i have spent far more than i could ever reasonably ever hope to get back if i ever sold it but cmon £1500 for some old crash bars...its hardly the same as spending £30 on yet another headlight rim that doesnt fit. I would have a wager with anyone on here that he doesnt get a grand for it and i dont even think he will get in a million miles of that figure either. But as a capitalist i do have to agree that somthings worth what someones willing to pay for it at the end of the day...ArmandTanzarian wrote:I think we're all on pretty thin ice talking about what is and isn't a waste of money.
