Digital display has stopped working properly on mine - which runs off DC - (maybe something to do with rain at Exmouth over weekend) and I've only had it on scoot for 6 months, covering maximum of 1000 miles. My mates has also completely stopped working on AC. I've heard of a few others failing as well.
Great functional bit of kit, but poor quality, seriously p***ed of!!

Yeah, I got a bit wet coming back from Exmouth too Tom, and mine reset the trip a couple of times

I put it down to water in the switch. That one's on AC.

Are the aforementioned issues with the MkI or Mkll speedo, I.e. with or without fuel tap light?

Mine was the MkII in this case Mike. It was exceedingly wet though

Where did you end up fitting the power box, and how? Double sided tape inside the headset?
Cheers V

I thought that it was a little cramped in the headset (plus I planned on an H4 Halogen conversion so hotter as well!), so I extended the cable and moved it down to the horncast held on with a cable tie.

That looks ace - did you simply cut the cables, soldered in an extension and shrink wrapped it?
Also, is that a GP or SX? Which one has more space in the headset?

Yes that's exactly what I did, shrink wrap makes life so easy now!
And it's an SX type headset/horncast

I've fitted mine under the backbone using velcro. Very easy to reach the stator wires if you run a wassel.
