Unfortunately it looks like they haven't fixed this problem in the "Mk2" and aren't going to!

On the plus side they have fitted a low fuel warning light (if you have a sutable fuel tap with the float switch).

Cheers for the link! It's unfortunate they haven't paid attention to the feedback, but they don't seem to think it's too big a deal

I've ordered one for the SX so I'll try Sticky's suggested mod from Scootering and report back
.....I really must have a look at other forums on this site, I just can't seem to get past Lambretta Tech

I haven't got that issue of scootering. What was the recommended Sticky Mod?

Don't know what Sticky recomends, but when I fitted mine to my SX headset I had to take the Dremel to the top of the fork tube
and angle the speedo unit itself. Even so I don't think it would have worked if I had to connect up the standard speedo cable (I'm using the electronic sensor).
This thread on a german scooter forum has some interesting pics (lots of pages to wade through) and you can have a laugh by letting Google do a translation for you.

Here's my speedo in the headset, big test tomorrow, first time on the road!

Well. I'm against modifying the Lambretta to make it fit. It's ok modifying parts but not the scooter itself. Better to stick I bicycle computer on it instead! That's what I've done on my other bike (and realised how wrong the original was showing my speed)

Not quite a mile, that's 1.1km, and I had to spin the rear hub really fast to get it there.
Did hit the road today with it and found out a couple of things:
a. I dont really think I was doing 199kph so one of the settings is wrong.
[Sensor pulses set to 1 should be 4 (picking up from 4 wheel studs) thought I'd changed it
]
b. I managed to flatten the battery so curent draw is higher than I expected.
[Indicators off the battery as well so not all down to the speedo]
c. As I managed to flatten the battery I guess my trickle charge circuit from the regulator is probably not working.
Apart from that It seemed to function well - after I changed the spark plug to a resistor type that is (I was expecting to have to do that).

I had considered going full dc, the only thing stopping me was the problems people were having with the rev counter function and the Wassel conversion.
Your good news that it can work came a fraction too late, I've just ordered a new BGM regulator. If that fails to keep the battery charged and the SIP rev counter works reliably on the Wassel, full dc will be the way to go!

I've just fitted my third (thanks Santa!) this time to a 1967 SX150 so I was expecting problems.
Problems, what problems??? It fitted a treat first time.
However, it is the latest version so something might have been modified in the design apart from just adding the Low Fuel warning function.
Maybe I was just lucky, it had to happen with a Lambretta at sometime :fb:
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to everyone!
just added a photo -

Hi everyone.
So mine fitted perfectly in my chrome ring special headset. I'm using an ignitec ignition so have a battery (not full DC)
Everything works well but I need to calibrate the speedo.
What gear ratio are people using?
I was thinking a good way to check is with the tacho against avantone's visualiser
