the question is, can I make it go to 14????

the rear brake is hopefully now sorted, fingers crossed this weekend it will be running right.

I have set the motor up with the spec of the "safer" motors, bigger squish, 1.4 as opposed to 0.8 and its got a lower compression ratio than the full on race motors. domed twin ring piston and head, not the flat top single ring piston.

will obviously cost me power and torque but Im more interested in safer running and getting out riding it.

Im hoping to see about 21-22 bhp and 12 ft/lb at rear wheel. not going to set the world alight but hopefully enough to keep up with muggys etc, and cheaper

Great build! Very impressed by that it actually looks like a Lambretta which considering how far away it is mechanically is amazing! Brilliant.

thanks, Im hoping that it prooves to be fun and reliable, if it does then I would like to keep it, despite currently having 6 people asking for 1st refusal on sale of it LOL

if I keep it then a full strip and proper paintjob is on the shopping list for next winter, the finish is crap, that I dont deny, but for me its been about the engineering and doing it all on the cheap, was quoted about £1200 for the paintjob I wanted, I just dont have that kind of money

the whole thing is powdercoat, theres bits in the coating and obvisouly as theres not a single bit of filler on the whole thing, it shows any imperfections.

Im more of a ride it, not hide it person, however I felt that simply painting it matt black wasnt an option, I wanted it to look like I had at least made an effort, I love matt black rides, sleepers and ratrod S2 etc, but didnt think it suit this with all the anodised alloy parts etc

Tony well done on getting it finished so quick from the above it sounds like you have inadvertently created yourself a new business opportunity and I for another one look forward to the production line starting LOL Devon knows how you make em so dreamy

Would your handle bar set up be useable on any lambretta ? As even on it's own looks like a very trick set up for anyone wanting a street racer look.

Be very sad not to be waiting on the next instalment so keep the upgrades coming

thanks, theres another planned build in the pipeline but will have to sell this to fund that, have drawn up the plans and worked out 90% of the build for a very technical and funky S2, will put 4t twist and go motor in that. I will then be in the situation where I have the money to go buy all the bits I need and just get on with it, something I never been able to do before.

Have been asked about building another similar to mine with RGV250 engine, the guy just wants the dry build for him to then finish, I guesstimated a price and he said I was ripping him off, so even if he comes back to me now Im going to tell him to naff off.

Im waiting to raise some more cash (£100) and there will be a tidy speedo going on this, made up templates of the unit and it will work a treat.

after that its time to just get out and abuse it

I have a 7 speed motor that I will start stripping and if I keep this then I fancy building a fast motor for sprinting and 1/4 mile playing, trouble is that from what I can see theres not a lot of bike engined scooters on the racing scene, winning an event because your the only one just isnt cricket LOL, would rather come last in a field of 5 or 6 so long as I done my best.

All sounds great and means there will be plenty to read about only disappointment is the "4T twist and go motor" really I know each to there own and that but they are about as exciting as diesel tractor engines lol give me the rind ding ding of a 2T any day every day and all day long not forgetting the heavenly smell of eau d'fullysynthetic

I think what you have achieved is excellent. The guy who wants one dry built has no idea how many man hours you have put in, never mind the parts costs. I would also tell him where to go. I spent around 100 hours on my frame alone, never mind the build, postage, petrol, parts and the foresight to come up with the idea in the first place. Some folk expect you to pay them £30 p/h.
