So in summary (for my own clarification because wading through 12 pages pre-coffee leaves me confused) at this moment in time...SIP seem to have addressed any suspected safety concerns and are producing a good set of safe tubless rims for about £60 per rim, and AF may follow suit in the future...but at this time their new rim is more like SIPs old rim, and they dont think that any of the Mk1 rim glitches present a safety issue? Is that about it?

Just to add to the summary (if I've read it right), possible isues with fitting high spec tyres like Schwalbe to the AF rim and it might not be possible to purchase SIP rims from within the UK due to some sort of distribution agreement between AF and SIPdrunkmunkey6969 wrote:So in summary (for my own clarification because wading through 12 pages pre-coffee leaves me confused) at this moment in time...SIP seem to have addressed any suspected safety concerns and are producing a good set of safe tubless rims for about £60 per rim, and AF may follow suit in the future...but at this time their new rim is more like SIPs old rim, and they dont think that any of the Mk1 rim glitches present a safety issue? SIP do offer a very good delivery service via DHL and you may be surprised that it might be cheaper and quicker carriage than offered by some in the UK.
