Check out Casa Lambretta on facebook , they are just about to launch a large bore exhaust to fit the Lui and it's made to look like a standard Lui pipe

Yup, thats the one I am talking about.

I created a new email address last night and finaly managed to register over on the luna forum 8-)

Just waiting for account to be activated.

The new stator from SR has 4 wires my original stator has 3 wires. For some very strange reason my wires have a different colour code than what is standard from other lammies.

The colours on the junction box are blue, grey and yellow (same as wires) I wonder if this is a another mod to satisfy the Sweedish authoraties?

Blue is connected to blue in junction box and also leads off to coil, so thats green sorted. Can I just plug 2 of the other wires in there randomly and see what works without risking damage?

I imagine that the SIL stator has 1 for ignition, 2 coils but 1 wire for lights, 1 coil 1 wire for brake light, and 1 coil 1 wire for horn. The 2 coils that supply the lighting power may be putting out low amp 12V or higher amp 6V. If this is the case, using an original 6V round junction box will be fine as these are paired, rather than all bar green being connected/common for 12V use.

... then again, I could be talking out of my ***! (not for the first time :( )

I`m really happy having a grown up to help here, thanks Adam.

SR kindly tell us whats what ,from the Sunny stator.

Red- Brake light
Green- Ignition system
Brown- Power to switch for lighting
Violet- Power to ignition switch for parking light

Scooter help doesn`t have a wireing diagram but I did see this http://www.scooterhelp.com/manuals/vega.manual/35.jpg for the lui without a handlebar switch and just a horn,

and this.. http://www.scooterhelp.com/manuals/vega.manual/09.jpg

Obviously none of the colours co-ordinate with mine  but I notice only 2 wires from the stator?

Here is my junction box.

The wires are Grey,Yellow and blue. Blue we know would normaly be the green as is feeds handlebar and coil.

Here is the setup on the headlight. harness is on left and switch wires right.

It looks like blue just connects to blue and powers the switch (so green off new stator), and yellow goes to the headlight bulb, so that should be connected with the brown on the new stator?

Thing is grey also just joins with a grey and feeds of to the switch, so this could be the brakelight power. That means I can just tape off the violet from the sil flywheel maybe?

Ow, the difference in colours is making my head hurt!

The info that SR gave you is basically what I would have expected it to be. Do you know if the Sunny has a regulator anywhere in its system? I ask as all the 12V systems that I've used have some sort of regulator in them to stop bulbs from blowing... normally along the lines of a 3 pin Vespa regulator.

When using the Vespa regulator for the easy 6V to 12V Lambretta conversion, the lighting coils (brown on SIII) go to the regulator and the others are simply taped up. Likewise, I doubt that you need to use the others, however, you may find some benefit from keeping the headlight system 12V and the rest 6V, like some of the odd SIL systems... including the Sunny by the sounds of it!

My electrical knowledge is fairly basic so you may get better responses from others. For me it is a case of working out the basics, then trying various combinations ;)

Good luck.

Well, I just plugged the fekers in and started her up.

Works a treat.

Set the timing at 19 btdc and strobed. Jippi. The static timing is now static. I havn`t changed the front bulb so its super bright and hasn`t blown (yet)

Fit the new pipe (just let me say balls ache), new 76 chain and 15 sprocket so gonna take it for a test after dinner.

One problem, no rear light. The new light I bought doesn`t have a brake light and only one place for wire. I think i`m missing an earth somewhere. old light is just 2 wires connected to bulb holder.

As for the wire colours, it must be yellow and blue for the sweedish flag. Haha.

Just can`t imagine why the sweedish ones use so many one off products. They must have sold s**t loads of luna`s over there for innocenti to do all these changes just for them.

oh, definatly only 12v for the headlight. I changed the wires around and fired it up and the headlight looked like a candle again.

Yes I`m pretty chuffed.

I made a new earth to the rear light and that now works.

Went for a ride round the block and it certainly goes a lot cleaner and Its also quicker and first gear is now useable. I have to take it out down the road to test if it pulls any better on the hills. If it doesnt do too well there I have a 13 tooth sprocket I can give a try too.

One major headache left though, and that is the fins on the flywheel.

I cant fit my flywheel cover because the fins are too tall. I have either been deliverd the wrong flywheel, or the tall finned flywheel SR have is super tall.

Original fins are 13mm and the SIL are 22mm. EDIT: looking at the pics on SR certainly tells me that I have the shorter type.

What are my options here? will a J type flywheel cover fit, or can I just mill the fins down? I seriously dought that that this little bugger will be suffering from overheating problems...
