PX SM sounds a bit kinky to me oz!!!
Now i understand that all our tastes differ greatly, i own various tuned scooters from falc vespa smallframe, jap ts230, rb230 and rapido 250 with clubman!!! The falc is great up the strip, And the rb is great for blasting round town but does get hot on the motorway, the ts is similar power wise round town but better on the motorway the rapido is slow round town but great on the motorway etc...etc...
Most of the above have various parts from different tuners hopefully mixed together to go as the owner would like, however i have blown up plenty of motors as the mix hasnt been quite right or the dyno operator has " set it up a bit rich for ya mate " ( just set it up properly if you know how to...rant over)
how i understood what he was trying to achieve was a good all round rally going motor that will be economical, low maintenence and able to pull a tv200 gearbox and sit on the motorway two up at a decent speed, 80+with the power to overtake at high mph if required, as a respected tuner he has developed all of the components to work together to achieve this so that we dont have to mix and match as has been done in the past, to hopefully get it right. he has spent hours developing a complete touring motor not just a kit, and taken all of the guess work out of it and providing The motor performs on the road like it does on the dyno/ track and there is no reason looking at the great spread of power at low rpm on the dyno sheet that it shouldnt, then there should be lots of happy punters amongst us, as has been said the motor wont be cheap but then blowing up rb,s and ts,s etc, isnt either!!!
Super Monza!
After 11 pages no one has come up with a price yet.
How much would it cost to have a SM engine built? I've been quoted just short of £4k for a full on top spec RB250, what are we looking at for an SM, about £5k?

I thought £4k for an RB250 was over the top but if it's a complete engine based on a new SIL GP200 engine [£800'ish] then it's about right if you're using £400 clutches and cranks and £100 layshafts etc. So I suspect around another £500 or so for a S.M kit [without a £1k gearbox] will be around the mark. However given that you're more or less just emtying the SIL engine to replace 90% of it then you'll be approx £500 better off starting with empty casings at £300.mark1 wrote:After 11 pages no one has come up with a price yet.

its a 230 with no welding but just good tuning and built well with good parts by people i trust
and who know what they are doing
