Antidive upgrade scootRs brake.

Anything related to Lambrettas... ask tech questions, post helpful info, or just read and learn.

The backplate/speedo drive locate into the link but
aren't they different for disc /drum links?

Not on the antidive...

The plate doesn't locate, it would spin if it wasn't for the tie bar, that's how Lambretta antidive systems work, and you can see the speedo drive just sits under the link, it doesn't need to locate.

PS. Not sure whose scoot this is, hope the owner doesn't mind (Nigel?)

The plate is not attached to my backplate,it does move independantly.
The speedo housing locates into the link as per original.
I had to take it apart earlier to remove my tubeless wheels to get the
dodgy valves changed.
I've also been out to take another look just to make sure I'm not losing the
plot!
If I was clever enough I would post a pic but I'm not, my mrs can do it but
she's watching telly!!

Personally, I don't find the anti-dive that bad. It made such a difference to this bike that I got the upgrade for my GP.

All troops use bergens I just thought that type were Danish etc more to the point why are Rucksacks called Rucksacks ?

Yes Frank, the idea of the bushes isn't correct for these as there will be sideways movement that needs to be considered. A lot of the movement on these antidive systems is small but it needs to be taken into account as it will affect the handling of the scooter, particularly if braking and turning at the same time.

The material of steel on steel is a bad idea, proper bronze or oilite bushes that are a slide fit together with spherical bearings is the better way to go, you can see this on the Worb/LTH ones, although the LTH has a cheap Taiwan copy caliper on it :-?
