i take it the Q0 atomiser is standard - sounds worrying if its lean at 1/4 throttle?

(maybe should have kept the jetex on)
dont lose faith, you have the best carb on the market. just make it over rich and smoke it round for a bit then come down. at least running round rich you can enjoy the sun and not worry about buggering the motor then start leaning it off.

i needed to use an electronics washer on my needle to get between the two clip possitions. and i just checked the jets that i had tried and i started of with a 200 main then came down.

is the 5n14 needle richer than the standard 5n13?

maybe i'll need to start with 200 main and raise the needle to 3rd (middle clip)

Moved needle down to 3rd notch and main up to 200. Doing South downs run yesterday, trip of around 260 miles, Sustained flat out riding seems fine and plug definaitley showing running very rich. Now prone to major bogging when trying to open up from corners and on pull away, so assumng needle is causing this?

once the throttle is 'feathered' a little the respanse from these little carbs is amazing
If it's any use, I have an MB tuned SR190 on an old Italian Fresco with a RamAir through the panel. I'm running 17.5 pilot with air screw a few turns out (it didn't like a 15 pilot); 4DH7 needle 2nd clip and a 185 main. On the 5N13 needle it was too rich. The 4DH7 sorted it ;)

ive raised the 5N13 needle to mid clip and it still pulls away through the rev range when i open the throttle.

it isnt quite machine gunning at mid throttle positions when going along.

please excuse the ignorance but am i right in thinking the needle can be rich at say 1/2 throttle without machine gunning (4 stroking) at these revs?

cheers

had the scoot dynoed with 190 main and mid clip and spacer to raise half a clip position (so between mid and 2nd clip)
and told it was running a bit lean at mid point so raised the needle to mid clip and put 200 main in - sorted mid range but rich at top end

put a 190 main in with mid clip and told all was ok through rev range

riding home and the bike was machine gunning / 4 stroking when cruising off full throttle through lower revs (and backfired ) - i assume this means the bike is rich on the needle

if i put the needle back to mid clip with the spacer and raise the main to 195 - will raising the main from 190 to 195 slightly richen mid throttle or doesnt the main come into play until 3/4 to full throttle?

any advice greatly appreciated
cheers
mick
