Just fitted an SR one and it fits nicely with good connections, more like Bakelite than the usual polythene type ones available

Your link is broke, anyway there's no picture on the MB site to even guess the quality...

There's no clips with the SR one either. The clips should be attached to the reflector anyway...

[quote="Boothy_the_makem"]Waking the thread :)

I spent 4 hours on Friday with the same issue, main beam only and no dip and no speedo light. But when I checked, the bulb was OK. Turned out to be a loose wire from switch to dip light. But the main issue was poor earth, which is a common problem.

In my case, I've stuffed loose ends of an earth wire inside my speedo bulb holder (as Stickys book) and checked that the earth wire from one end of the pilot bulb was earthed and linked to the main bulb with the built in strap link between pilot bulb and main light. Make sure you get this earthing on the right side of the pilot bulb.

Main reason for taking four hours, was when my headlight was fixed into the headset, no front lights worked. Turned out that I had put in a new LED pilot light that when everthing was in place, it conected with the headlight frame and earthed everthing out. Bit of a ball ache for what I thought was a 30 min job.

Links probably due to this shitty samsung phone:)
I did wonder myself the fact theres no pic ;)
Good point on the clips. My stupid mistake .

Am hoping its a loose wire as you say paul. Funny enough the rivet had collapsed in the block and my mate found a thin bolt to put through after trying a self tapper caused the same problem of shorting .

Right i will order the sr one and go from there cheers all ;)

My original Indian was fecked so bought a new one from SR. As I was using the VWP bullet connectors and clear shrouds, I had to close up the terminals on the bulb holder a bit so they would grip the bullets correctly. Then later me speedo fecked up, so bought a new one and soldered a wire to the speedo bulb holder outer and earthed the other end rather than relying on the speedo cable as the earth. I use a small four LED speedo light which works perfectly and has a slightly bluish light so doesn't dazzle you at night. Had issues getting speedo to work reliably, and in the end got a full metal worm drive and put a 6mm washer on each end before fitting so it stay central. Works perfectly :D
