probably all it is of use for...On my disc brake, when the wheel is turned when bike is on the stand the disc is rubbing on the pads. I'm guessing this should not be the case, am I right? The wheel should turn freely, right?? after talking with Angry Bloke tonight, who is has been fitting the same to his bike, I am going to check the relationship between the disc and the pad faces, I suspect they may not be in line consistently, and some shimming may be required...
I will also look at the disc, good point about burred holes, roughly checking in situ with a steel rule it seemed ok, certainly no worse than the one on my bike, which works fine, and has done for 000s of miles
there'll always be some drag on a disc brake, but the wheel should be able to spin at least one revolution fairly freely by hand. If the stiffness is uniform, check that the pistons are not sticking, and that the caliper can move freely.
