What needle are you using?
I dont think running it on a dyno will make it tick over !!!

dapper wrote:Lee, did you follow my reply on this carb problem on your previous post? Can you see light through the tiny hole in the carb next to the main jet (pilot hole)? Did you melt off the float stop in the bottom of the float bowl? I've got the 24mm OKO carb on mine and had to do the above. PM me if you need any more advice.
dapper, i didn't mate been busy at work and haven't been in the garage...

gonna check what you said as it could be fuel starvation i suppose, sounds just as likely as an air leak..

the float bowl stop was ground down anyway..

itching to get it sorted so then i can get it M.o.t'd and registered..

Evening..

been tinkering today with my carb and noticed thru the clear floatbowl that my float needle doesn't come out very far.. I was told that the float bowl measurement needed to be more of around 22mm than 19mm.
Anyway...

the float needle was slightly longer than another i have so i decided to see if it would do anything better by letting the needle to come out more..

Its transformed the carb!!!!!!
it revs and sounds so good with the choke on.

it still does die on me when i put the choke in, but i take it that its the pilot.. going to upjet it to see if its ok..

upjetted the pilot again and it revs with the choke off but dies when i try to pull off.. any idea's?

the pilot was 45 and i put a 52 in..

i was thinking tho, that the problem before was the float needle not allowing the fuel in quickly enough, so i compromised with putting bigger pilots in..
i'm i right in thinking if the float is ok now a lower jet should work.. one which should be around what other lads have on their 186 mugellos.( like around 34 )

i will try just to see for myself

Lee, I`ve been having similar problems with my PWK`d SR190. Originally I had a Scootrs copy but changed to a genuine Keihen PWK in an attempt to cure it. It`s always been a right b`stard to start but once warm then one or two kicks would be fine.
I`ve found that a squirt of Easy start will fire it up no problem so this eliminated any thoughts i had about it being electrical, which I`d suspected.
Now I think it`s the size of the pilots, I`ve tried a selection from 32 to 55 and still the problem persisted. I`d read somwhere regarding drilling out the pilot jet to .75mm.
I`ve just got a set of micro drills and so far have taken it out to .85mm and it`s definitely working, a vast improvement.I`ll get back to you tomorrow when I`ve finished tweaking the size to suit.
