i,m sure we,ve had figures of 18 bhp/15 flbs..........

i dont doubt it, my brother had the same from his honda 205 too, that was prone to siezing too though
what spec is that, they are only rated at 11 or twelve at the crank. have you had any joy with the ebay ali kits?
we,ve not as yet had any complaints or probs with seizes, but thats probably cos mostly we tune and fit and dyno....for the customer...
bore clearances, ring gaps etc are taken care of by us..........as a matter of corse........
a typical fast road /touring tune on a cast 200 barrel,would get approx 160 inlet,175 ex.........
120 to 125 trans....,but do differ somewhat as regards folks needs ,and also the quality of piston and rings used.......as wider ports are used with better piston/rings..........

Hi guys
Thanks for your advice.
The stage 4 I've got at mo is all I would ask from a kit, it's quick, torquey and never lets me down.
Main reason for a change is the nipping up bit, which only seemed to start after I changed from a Clubman to the PM!
I may be better changing the piston (Which is crap) and dynoing it?
What dya think and thanks again.

Yea
It's on full panel work btw, no hole for carb!
Plug colour is fine and I use Comp 2 oil.
Carb as I've said is a 30 mil ph/bh.
Bike will easily hit 60 and 70 if I thrash it, Is very revvy and I feel could do with gearing upping.
Racetour piston and rebore to my kit £160 or Rapido 225 £200 as a mate said, but jetting at mo is.
av 266 atomiser and 130 main, settings came off here but that was with the clubman.

What size is the float needle valve? It needs to be 300. I take it its a rubber mount PHBH?
looks rich on the main.Do you know what the timing is set at? Ive sent you already the spec of the PHBH28 and that was dyno`d at that and your spec (road tune and pm pipe) is similar to mine. Do you know the clearence and what piston it is?

Hi mate
Clearence is .3 thou and piston is same as yours but 3 rings.
Kit was fine prior to using the PM, however was only used on short journeys every day (20 miles or so)
Not a rubber mounted carb and I'm unsure of float needle, will have to check.
Unsure of the timing aswell, am going to get that checked to asap.

Right mate,if its solid mounted, you need to raise the float height to allow a higher level of fuel as you get fuel frothing due to vibration. There is a Dellorto manual which shows you how to measure it.You basicaly need a higher level of fuel in the float bowl.Deff need a 300 float needle valve.Had this on my old 185 and the 200 which both had solid mounted carbs and would pink when driven hard/flatout and did this and it never did it again.See what type of float you got in the carb, its much easier if you have the old metal frame type.My 200 was fine with the bigbore but as soon as i fitted an expansion,it started to do this aswel.Fuking relieved when i sussed it out on mine.

Nice one
Will check all you've advised, I was fairly certain barrel etc were spot on, a mate built it and knows his stuff.
Makes sense what your saying abt frothing, will check carb.
Thing doesn't "Pink" though, just nips up over 60 for no apparent reason.
I'm convinced it's not much and ur advice really helps.
Will come back to you with what the carbs got in it and once sorted, will still think abt giving it a hone and a better piston at some point.
