Kev, when I had it wired to the grey, I held the other end to the purple and got nothing. But then the orange indicator light on the headset has never worked either (I've tried 2 bulbs). The only light on the headset that does work is the main/ dipped bean one as the neutral switch is faulty.
Is there a workaround or do I have to find why the orange indicator light on the headset is not activated by the indicators flashing?
Thanks again
Paul
PS, lammydave, I think your headset lights are probably correct. My Lynx is wired to a diagram that used the headight on/off light (which is pretty pointless anyway) as a light which flashed with the indicators. This was, I believe, a popular modification at the time and, later Lynxes
may have been wired like this anyway

Paul, the buzzer should work if it is fitted between the purple and earth, not between purple & grey as when the relay activates these two wires are shorted together.

Kev, just tried this and the indicator continues to work but no buzzer. I swapped the leads over from the buzzer and just the same.
I have one lead from the buzzer fitted to a connector in the purple, not far from the relay itself, and the other lead earthed to the back to the legshields.
This is the buzzer:

Paul, you'll have to remind me which relay you've got.

If the earth connection you made, for the buzzer, is good then it can only be a fault with the relay. When the relay latches the "R" connection should be directly connected to the "+" connector, so when the indicators flash all 3 connectors should be joined.
