When buying the rivets, check that both the rivets and the nails are stainless, as this is not always the case...

Instead of messing about with rivets all the time why not weld nuts inside the end cap and use stainless button head M5 Allen screws.Its a lot easier whenever you need to repack tailpipe and using a dab of loctite they never come loose like rivets. You can MIG weld to stainless easy enough.
