this is why we wore oxford bags in the old days if you stuck your legs out they acted like parachutes :roll:
and platform shoes were not a fashion item....we just new we could get a good few emergency stops out of them before they
needed replacing :D

cheap very good brake:

buy a new sil indian gp front brake hub and "makino" brake shoes (ebay).
the "makino" brake shoes cost half of italian ones (about 7,90) and have a lighter colour.
get a new gp cam and any good condition backplate.

result: very very good braking.

(tested now 8 of these brake-setups. every one works very very good. no fading, very powerful. like a very good vespa p-range II font brake)

I've used the dremel to cut out 3 or 4 diagonal lines on the brake shoe padding.
Helped get a better grip. Although I only did it on the rear brake.
