the asso pistons are now aproaching £90 (the AF web site is way out of date)

both these pistons are cheap cheap,both quality and price you really need one from mr broadhirst or an af one

I recommend dont use these pistons on any stage 4 tune the rings cant handle it
I know from experience

Go the ASSO route or Mahle Piston with Asso rings costs £65 ish
Remember the Asso 66mm has the 3mm off the skirt, so need to take this into account
when doing the tuning Mahle piston doesnt.

Im at present doing 4 200cc st4 for people and this is the route Ive gone

when tuning any two stroke I would always try to get a nice jap piston, for all the following reasons (thin rings, light weight, better piston strength, more accurate machining, easy availability, etc.etc.etc)

is that for the ts200 you said about ? as the yam dt/it piston is 66mm and some kawasaki ones are 66mm too

Yamaha IT175/YZ175 pistons are very good and will only fit a TS1/Monza 200 kit when using a 115/116 rod because of a different deck height.

unless you wanna top and tail or stroke it to your personal needs

thanks chaps for all the replies,going to go the mahle route but what still puzies me is how do i make sure i get the right size piston/rings or do i take the barrel with me when i go to buy one

You need to measure the bore of the barrel and get piston to suit

thanks bazman for that ,i bet sean thinks i`m never going to get hold of him and try to sort a tune out
