Best bet is to just buy a small lathe. go to the library, get some level 2 engineering books, and play with the lathe.

you learn so much more by just having a go and solving the problems as you go along, all the theory can be found in books but the best teacher is often yourself.

Model engineers probably use DNC Flexible Manufacturing Systems from Taiwan these days in their garages... :roll: :lol:

Like quite a few things, it's a lot easier to show someone what to do, than explain it in words :| I really wish I could offer more practical assistance David.
