I wouldn't necessarily lose the reed stops on standard reeds but I and a lot of other's I know have done many 000's of trouble free miles with this set up using boysen 2 stage reeds. I had this set up in my GP and my series 1 for years and I've numerous European rallies and been all over the the UK and never had to change the reeds once. I've got v-force reeds in my bike now because I wanted to give them a try but to be honest if I was to make a seat of my pants comparrison I'd say the boysens and Yam block combination felt quicker and revved cleaner. I haven't done any scientific tests though.

Cheers,

Matt
