I needed an 83 link chain and found one on the Cambridge Lambretta website, description was: Italian made, Quality excellent. Fair enough I thought and half the price of an IWIS one. Rang Cam Lam up to place the order and whoever answered the phone asked what was the intended use, told them it was for a low revving 225. Was immediately advised not to buy the Italian chain as it would fall apart in no time. Obviously I commented that the website stated the quality was 'excellent' and he laughed.

I'll stick with Scooter Restorations for as many parts as I can, at least their descriptions are honest.

anyone reccomed anyone selling good quality rear hubs, mines warped to buggery...

I'd not want to be harsh to Camlam, nor anyone else, but if I were in the mechanical side of things I'd neither stock, recommend nor use anything I wouldn't myself. If it's shite then say it and don't give the robbing Pikey c*nt5 another penny.

And don't try to recoup your losses by selling to the unsuspecting,just lob the rap in the skip. Take the hit, you'll feel better about it and I'm sure your Insurance company will too.

Got one from Kegra,sits on a 240ts1,not sure what make it is but have had no issues.Give them a call.01702331686

I only use good second hand italian hubs or genuine SIL hubs from SR. Haven't had any problems with those.

I had a Ramp hub an my RB(It was a TS at the time and sheared all the studs at about 65-70 mph and kept it upright!!!)
Took it back to Beedspeed and was told 'what do you expect as there not built for TS1's' wouldn't even give me any money back.

it was not visible from the outside but during a re build the lovely shiny beauty was found to be riddled with cracks all through the ali and break lining.

my conclusion being that lambretta hubs are made from easter eggs.

so my findings are that af rayspeed have had their own batch made which are claimed to be both round and heavier than the alternatives. i think camlam sell a remade series 2/spanish type for 130 cambridgshire pounds. sounds a lot but if its decent and indestructible then i would have one.

spanish ones are rare and tubeless rims dont fit on them

i have a couple that i bought nos from rich presley. they were found as a pallet of them in indonesia apparently. no idea if they are any good or not. they have no branding on them.

series 2 ones seem heavier.

seems its the latest thing to worry about but i have to say they are a thin design compared to a vespa

It's a little tight with the powdercoating on mine but not a problem once relieved.

Got a pair of tubeless Scoot RS V3 rims on my Spanish S2 - fit no probs at all..... best rear hubs currently available are the thicker Spanish ones IMHO.
