Thanks for the replies chaps
It was welded by a professional welder and it was pre heated so it should be ok
It was a free, knackered casing anyway, the barrel studs had been helicoiled (not very well) and the welding was a favour

so no problems if its no good
I`ll let you know how i get on.

I think the welding looks well done... and if its been properly pre heated I would think it should be fine...

I've had a couple done now too: Not stud conversions, just extra material (for R250 + a 3rd. case transfer)
I always leave in the max to help against distortion: Mag where possible, mag studs + bolts, driver bearing, cylinder studs(not poss here I know). Convinced it helps. The pictured case will need a good amount removed again to fit the Mag Housing.
