Thanks for the tip, I'll be sure to do that. I really hope it sorts the problem as it's driving me around the bend!

Now, I am not sure which flywheel I have (light/mid etc) - can I just buy any stator and swap it? If so which is the best?

Yes the Anthony Tambs ones are very good, the BGM ones not so good. Mine went within 6 months from new and ive heard similar stories.
If you can get a SIL one from Scooter Restorations in Nottingham that may be a better choice.

If I've followed this ? You've effectively tried two CDi's and two pick-ups.
In my experience LT coils break down when hot. This means when the scoot has been running for some time and/or distance.
I'm not certain it's an electrical problem.
I'm wondering about the carb. and or settings. Or perhaps a mechanical problem.
Without seeing the scoot for myself it's difficult to diagnose.....

I have an AC system and I use one of these - https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid ... ater&ifg=1 - It takes its power from the lighting coils,so with your external pick up and this CDI it cuts out everything apart from the lighting coils from your stator plate.

I'm inclined to agree with Daggs that it is a carb issue .

Clearly it is only effecting the throttle pick up off of idle by your description .
The idle is presumably stable so rather than the Pilot jet or air jet it could be the slide...... the slide is responsible for pick up off idle to approx 1/8th of throttle range.

Try this simple experiment. next time you go to pull away apply a little choke and see if that improves initial pick up. if it does pick up better then it would suggest you need to change your slide to a richer one .
