its probably the voltage regulator thats faulty, replace with a ducati one.

sorry i should have read the post more carefully, i would guess at a bad earth on the back light could be to blame, i always run one from maghousing to frame then regulator, then onto back light, might be worth a try

When I've had an over voltage from the Reg. It always seems to get the rear light first. Gawd knows why!
If you have a multimeter? Check the output. Expect anything between 11v and 13v, they aren't that accurate.

Not got a multimeter daggs , lm just gonna put an LED in when it goes again pal lol

too much voltage will still blow an led, i still suspect that it will be down to the voltage regulator or the earth, i would replace both and see if that fixes it.
