Yes i s**t you not, you just need to think outside the box. Think about it, the key is the same profile with the same number, it will fit trust me and it will only cost you a couple of quid.

Brilliant! Thanks for that. As it happens, I had a rumage through some more old keys this morning, found a couple that I thought looked promising and fortunately, the second one I tried released the lock . Going to order a couple of filing cabinets one though, although not sure I'll dare try one lol!

Hi Scooterdude. Please see my post dated 13th August (sorry, don't seem to be able to pick up and paste more than one quote!)

As mentioned, found a key at home that was well worn, (not a scooter key) tried it, and it worked!. Quit whilst I was ahead and haven't dared lock it again since, just in case lol!
