I can only say as I find,I've used 2 Mec cranks in seperate scooters for the last 5 years and had no problems. The first I got from Buzzsolomoto and the second from Glasgow Lambrettas, both are 58x107

think there was a thread on here a while ago,if i remember correctly the mec crank with the bronze coloured rod is the one to avoid putting in tuned motors

As mentioned it seems to be the copper coloured rods that are the weaker. Think prior to these they were shiney silver rods. Many folk use them including myself (imola) without issue so think you will be fine unless its putting out higher hp/torque figures.

I was looking on the jockeys site and they use the mec "race" crank on their builds upto about 20hp. Photo shows a silver rod but it's really a copper coloured rod.

Well I say that as the crank I ordered came with a copper coloured rod but in the pic it's silver.. they do speak English if you need to call.

According to some.. but i wonder how many people have actually seen a broken copper con rod? And if so, why did it break.. not purely because of the dizzy power levels of 20-25hp ?
Maybe get in contact with Harry barlow and he can make you a crank?
