Must be just softer compound. Brakes work the same as last shoes. Not great. My brake cam looks fitted correctly. From stickys book, mine is the last one on the right in photo, offset Servetta. If there is an issue I have fitted cam wrong way round. What would be the symptom. Would it just jam up ?

A rime of the remotest oiliness will collect dust like the government collect taxes.

It is possible that there was a bit of oxidation on the brake drum, that makes a mess in short order too.

Some brake materials are just crap, lots of mess and wear and little effectiveness.
