It sounds like one of mine, because:
a) the one in the photo had recesses for the original side-panel vents
b) my footboards also bend up
There is enough flex in the fibre-glass for them to sit correctly once you have nailed them to the cross-member of the scooter. My paint hasn't cracked, so that's a good sign.
It is a curious effect of this mould, as the mould from which your back-end is extracted is not this shape..... I think it might be the effect of many years of storage. The weight of the finished fibre-glass bears down on this point and mis-shapes the bodywork. If properly supported during storage, it might not lose it shape.
