Okey dokey, decided to take top end off and have a look. Barrel is spotless but checking rings, put top piston ring into the barrel and the gap is 0.8 - does this mean it is time for new rings?

So 0.8 seems big and might be why the compression is down

Yup, measured them both and both are larger than recommended - top ring 0.8 and bottom ring 0.7 :(

Easy to sort out Alan and you only have to take it easy for 50 miles and should be a lot more responsive

The piston that I have is a 'B', does this have any bering on the rings I need to get? Or, can I just order normal TS1 225 piston rings :?:

How many miles on those rings and what 2 stroke are you using just to understand why?

Also what's your piston to bore clearance am guessing it should be around .003"
