It looks like a SIL crank with a SIL rod.

Thanks for your answers fellas . Is the SIL crank good or bad ? So if it's a SIL rod , is the barrel likely to have been shortened or not . I'm sure there wasn't a packer under it when I took it apart.

If it's a sil crank and rod it will be standard length rod and 58mm stroke, this means the barrel has been topped and tailed the same as mine, I bought a new piston for mine and cut it to match the old one, I cleaned up the bore with my glaze buster, I have dry fitted mine and piston top comes level with bottom of exhaust port at bottom of stroke, and quite close to top of the barrel at tic, I have the correct head to match the piston but I might get one of the big mammoth heads from ray speed as this setup is known to run hot, I think they have fins removed by topping and tailing which will reduce the cooling, jetting slightly rich will help too, have you cleaned up the barrel yet ?

You could have replaced the crank with one from Scooter Restorations, they have had 200 made with Japanese big end bearings, everything else is standard.I've just been on their web-site and their out of stock, its a shame because their only £79.95.I've been using one with a Casa 185 top end for two years without issue.

Piston is a suzuki TS185 with a shortened skirt, the crank is a standard SIL with standard SIL 107 rod, so barrel will have been shortened to suit piston/rod combo.
If it were me i'd clean it up, check piston to bore clearance (if excessive rebore and new piston if not light hone and new rings), check crank (and big end, if it's a standard change the bearing) and use it.

Just a thought. You could ring SR and ask them if the're having any more cranks done with Jap bearings and if so when will they be getting them in.

The SR cranks are/were decent value if you didn't have a crank. In this case there is a perfectly good crank that at cheapest could have a decent bearing put in for far less than 80 quid (a decent big end can be bought for less than 20 quid..... you could get a 107 mec or mazz rod kit fitted less than 80 quid.
