Thanks. Looking at plating costs , it is not cheap job. After all this I might just go the way of fitting lower damper conversion brackets.

There's nickel plating as well, cheaper than chrome, similar. It's used on guitar parts.

No no, got all my zinc plated stuff back from Leicester plating, still waiting for the chromed parts to be done, could be a while yet though.
