Yeah I was wondering how much it actually moves so what the actual safe distance is.

At least it does appear to be leaking at the mo. I need a new carb manifold (hadn't realised till today) so there will be a delay on finding out exactly how much space I have once its pointed towards the rear of the carb

You can always slip a bit more packing under the tank to raise it up.
I wasn't happy with my new sip tap sitting too close to the mount (practically touching) so I put 2mm of rubber sheet on top of the existing lower tank rubber and it's perfect now.

I've just had a look at my S2s. One has four thread turns of the tap below the nut and the other has two, both less than the original pic. Admittedly I cut a bit off the treads on the second one as I also had clearance issues. Might be worth doing this to get better clearance. If done carefully there shouldn't be an issue with leaks!

suspension travel has NO effect on the clearance between the tap and engine mount anyways ,simply re adjust your tank and rubbers ,and yes make sure its fitted correctly ...yours isnt !

In what way Sean? I've adjusted the tap from the first photo so that the thread is not all the way on the rank and more on the tap
