As far as I know, none of the "budget" torque wrenches operates in the other direction. It's very misleading when often they state that they are reversible, but this is only the ratchet.

You can tighten it as much as you like but it won't click.

This is true, what you want is the type that the square drive part pushes through from one side to the other.
