BAD NEWS :( ,the bottom ring peg has come out allowing the ring to spin and catch in the exhaust port!,it has gouged a large 'square' of coating off the bore,and rubbed right into the alloy.
I'm really surprised it didn't snap the ring totally! :shock:

Hence my earlier post... :( i had exactly the same with an rb with plenty of miles on it. Thing is it still went well with the damaged barrel, which was nice. You may want to have a look at a ceramic replate. Has lasted really well on mine, bit more pricy than nicasil but has lasted really well.

Post a pic.....you might be able to port it out.

Sorry for butting in but is it just a matter of plugging in the compression tester and kicking the scooter over to get a reading? Any tips

Thanks for that , I take it then that the gauge reads the max compression it registers after you turn the engine over and doesn't return to zero till you reset it. I hope you get sorted without breaking the bank.
