Go on then: How do you thoroughly 'leak down test' that? Yes with the inlet open and the manifold plugged FFS ;)

OP says it's got a reed valve and DT250 piston. If that has an inlet window then bdc would be fine I think

Is the air vent in the fuel tank cap blocked? Either that or the coil could be malfunctioning when it gets hot.
