My guess would be a displaced baffle or some sound deadening material is blocking it.coaster wrote:For less than £10 you can buy a useful endoscope on ebay. I have one which plugs into a laptop and has it's own built in led lighting. These are ideal for looking inside exhausts, cylinders etc.

I hope you get the exhaust sorted out, what I would add is keep all the correspondence and the exhaust even if you get nothing either from eBay, paypal or the dealer. SIP have in the past, had to refund/replace parts due to them being faulty. Shocks & Tubeless rims being two parts that I know off. You may be the first to experience this with the SIP exhaust, I would also try fb or the sip forum to see if anyone else has had this experience.
In the past sip have sent me refunds or a replacement part, but I bought direct from sip & it can take a bit of time to get it sorted.

Cheers chaps,
I tried my little camera from work in the exhaust but once into the coned section I couldn't see anything with the light on full.
I also have never had any problem with SIP exhauts, and my mate only bought this one on my say so.
The fact I have bolted another SIP 2 on and rode over 10 miles today faultlessy means it deffo was the new exhaust.
Also although the dealer siad he has tried it on his and it works, I don't believe him, and even if it does the fact it wont work on my mates means its not fit for purpose.
We will see what the dealer says,
I for one wouldn't reccomend anyone to buy from him, and although I have spoken to him on person and he seemd nice, I have altered my view on him after sein the official emails and private out of Ebay ones as well.
Really just venting my frustration on here, and still not put off the SIP pipes, just this dealer

Update is, dealer lost his case with Ebay, mate fully refunded (apart from return post), dealer p*ssed offand we don't care as his back up service was shi*e.
Same scoot running a borrowed SIP2, 105 main, drilled filter and a 48 pilot, all good, no flat spot and pulling well.
Just waiting for Scootopia's new big bore Vespa pipes to be in stock (07/11) and will fit one of them.
1hp more than the SIP on tests in Italy
And £30ish cheaper , so mate is waiting to buy one of them.
Thanks again for help and support

Always good to see another choice on the market. BGM, Scooter Republic and now this one makes a great range of choices but power isn't everything. The thing I like about the SIP pipe is the strong mid-range torque and the fact that its not much louder than a standard pipe. If I could find the equivalent for my Lambretta I'd have one. The BGM on it now is stupidly loud.lambro wrote:......

Is there some info on the scootopia one somewhere?
"Our dilemma is that we hate change and love it at the same time; what we really want is for things to remain the same but get better."
Hi,
Sorry for the delay, but yes, I am glad it was deffo just a faulty exhaust.
No matter what Carnaby say, it didn't bloody work on this scooter, and 2 further pipes, inc another SIP2 does.
Anyway, no spec on the Scootopia pipe as yet, if anyone wants to email/ring and hassle Lee, the dyno spec etc may be hurried up and made public
I am willing to wait and see how it woks on my mates PX150
Shaun,
Thanks for bearing with me during my rant
