yeah, cheers I did. ended up making a new can fromn a bit of alloy tube, got some leftover you can have if you ever need to do the same.
so, on mine at least, there isn't a hole going right into the expansion, the first part of the the muffler is mechanical and shouldn't be packed; the last bit [with the thinner holed pipe] has packing, but not too much.
So it all's back otr and revving as much as it was, but the sound has changed slightly...
