Yes its definitely gear oil.....he rocked up here last night and it was letting out say 2 tablespoon fulls in 5 mins (quite a bit) then I realised one of the lower nuts was only on the stuc by say half its thickness.....................usual case of not realising a Lambretta needs work, work and lots more work to make it right !! ha ......

I think Mike Phoenix keep the cork gaskets
