As Grumpy says, pay yer money and get a couple of left hand thread dill bits (4.5 an 6.00 will do it). Make sure your pilot hole is central and square. As an extra incentive for the bolt to come out use an heat gun to heat the area to spit boiling temp. JD. Remember to run your LH drill bits in 'reverse'.

What tools, naterals and bits do you have at your disposal? How much is it worth to you to take this out rather than do something else?

Tim, there is a product to remove snapped studs/bolts, I think you would ask for a set of stud extractors. I have a set but can't find them to post a photo but basically they are a rev thread cone shaped item. The principle is you pilot drill the snapped stud then wind in the extractor until it's tight this then starts to unwind the stud as you continue tighten. I've used these to some success but I would seek an alternative to removing this stud. Is the exhaust a Clubman type with the bracket for the hole you have blocked and a clip towards the end? If so, I'd get someone to weld another clip to the pipe and fit it to a side casing stud. The chances of removing the broken stud without damage is a big ask, then the chances of it vibrating loose will probably see it long gone before you notice.
I hope your well, it's been a long time my friend. All the best. Dave

Thanks Dave, it's a bigger job than I hoped and safer to do it removed from the scoot so will leave it till the winter as the scoot is running reall well with the RT. It's a big bore clubman that should be attached underneath.
Yes it's been a long time, hope your all well and hopefully see you soon. Are you back in Love with Lambrettas?

I wouldn't use the scooter until you get the bolt done :o
You have a 1000 mile France trip coming up.
