I used TTSport for years which was a semi but the price got ridiculous even in bulk so went tolubetech semi synthetic having done some research and testing

Been using it for a while now - 2% in Vespa and 3% on my TS1s

Stripped TS1 top end down for inspection and ring renewal earlier in the year and everyting was fine - (and it is slightly over jetted)- rings were free, gudgeon pin/small end good etc (did replace small end) and only a thin carbon build up (easily cleaned off)

Although that is described as Low Smoke so maybe not.

I don't think it's either of them in fairness mi duck. They are just some more oils that seem to be popping up. All the big four oil companies now have several ''Scooter Oils'', which is just rediculous. I think the Comp 2 they spoke of is the old pre mix one, before they abolished it and just kept the one that was suitable for injector and pre mix. Both Putoline and Silkolene have a oil for ''Classic'' scooters, in standard engine spec. If you look at the spec, they are rubbish quality and just a pointless addition to an already over saturated market. Putoline alone make 20 different 2 stroke oils, which is just crazy

These generally refer to MB rated oils 4T for automatic scooter which do not require the removal of friction modifiers to allow for wet clutches. Castrol comes to mind.

Its all very confusing. New Comp2 isn't the same as old Comp2 which has been rebranded as Classic but not necessarily the same Classic as the Classic scooter oil or the existing Classic 2T.

Tell me about it. It's more confusing than the omnibus of Emmerstreetenders,ffs! Even heard off a motor cross rider that some oils are designed for water cooled and not air cooled bikes, so aren't upto the job on an air colled bike. That's another new one on me, but hey ho, so little wonder we have threads galore regarding oil. We're all anal enough about the stuff, without the oil companies making it worse.

Apart fro the Shell VSX I current use ( not Lambretta) anyone living near a Yamaha dealer would not go wrong with Yamalube 2R. It is what most air cooled Kart guys used to use in the US/Canada. Price?
