There's no real room to space the mudguard up higher, without it touching the frame maybe 5mm - 10mm, not enough to help.

I've sourced some Bajaj 10" forks, which have the same tube length as the VNB, same steering lock etc, the stem is 20mm longer, so I have spend all day swapping over the hub, links, shock. Realising it will need a longer spring than the 155mm 8" spring, I had a 180mm spring that I shortened to 165mm, I had to overcome the mudguard fouling on the frame, but the diving was even worse than with the 8" forks, where do I go from here? (Is it down to the lake I fear).

I think the best way forward would be, buy a new spring and bgm shock. but they do tend to dive. i generally only use my front brake at the end of braking. if its cured the rubbing thats a good start.
