Import chargers for parts from far east

That might well be the letter of the law, but try going onto the courier's website and deducting their fee, and see if they deliver ;)

I agree with many others - if I was in the UK, I'd buy from someone like Martin, and indeed I have done for smaller items where shipping hasn't been prohibitive.

It's often worse with FedEx ie if you want it fast you pay extra and the duty, if you can wait for the normal mail more often than not you get away with it.

Yes Corrado is a great bloke.
I just got a few bits off him, quick and easy service.
And the bearing track removal tool I bought is great, Im only sorry Im only going to need it about once every 5 years! :mrgreen:

I normally opt for the slow boat and only got a bill the one time it came through a courier. It was annoying that the tax bill was under £5 but they add a handling charge and VAT. Never had a bill for my many buys direct from China via ebay and the post. They can often turn up quicker than UK based sellers

i bought a disc direct off scootRS a good few years ago think i was charged about £34 quid , cant remember the courier may well have been FedEx but they wouldn`t deliver till i had paid import duty etc billing me by email ! wankers
never squat down when wearing spurs !!

Thanks for the help. In the end I went for Just Lambretta. Well happy. The brake hose you get is far better than the standard hose. Also comes with chrome leaver and not black on. Result!
