I think I'd try and find out why your temperature has jumped though - that's quite a difference and that powerjet may just be a sticking plaster for an undiscovered underlying issue that might end in tears later.

Do you mean the Cambridge 'adjustable' power jet mate? We dont use this version in racing.

Most new tech on Racing Scooters seems to filter down from the Kart scene.... maybe a look around a few sites might give a few clues... .... But then again, maybe I'm wrong...

in the race scene most new stuff comes from Charlie who learns from everywhere and some of it self thought up.

I thought the powerjet on yours and Charlie's scoots (and others) was the Cambridge one (well the one Charlie came up with and they sell). Correct me if I'm wrong here cos I don't want to misinform anyone.

is it already available? i can´t find it on the camlam hp!

No, the one Cambridge are selling is another Charlie development but not the race one. The road one is more versatile for the road user. I'll have one of these on my road bike over the race version.

I had read about versions of these being used in the Karting and Two stroke Bike World but hadnt actually seen any close up till they appeared on the scooter racing scene... Its a big improvement over fitting a thumb operated choke mechanism to the handle bars as was done a few years back, That was a very crude emergency method of enrichening the carb by comparison... These as a road going version have got to be a big step forward, allowing furthur fine tuning of almost any carb that they can be fitted to... well done to Cam Lam and all involved..

Ha, I wouldnt have described Charlie's cable operated race power jet and "emergency system". That is not how he works. His engines are set up right.
The power jet system has been around for years. It needed someone who thinks outside the 'scooter box' to apply it to our race motors in an advantageous way. No one has used 'this' system until Mr Edmonds in the scooter race world.

Sorry Tony, I think you missunderstood my post.... 20 plus years ago I helped to put a scooter together for a lad to run in the newcomers, this had a thumb operated choke fitted to a non power jetted carb (quite a common modification back then)... This was used firstly for starting from cold and if need be if the engine leaned off a little too much or attempted to seize the choke could be applied without letting go of the handle bars...
What Charlie has put onto the scooters, is far in advance of the old crude method I mentioned.... and certainly not to be confused with it... I have watched the scooter racing continuously for nearly 30 years attending usually at least two or more races a season and have seen many developments over those years... If I see somthing I like, I try to find out about it and how its come about..... Eventually alot of what is good on the race track, finds its way onto road scooters... Thanks to the likes of Mr Edmonds... Which is a good thing...
