What do you mean? Is it physically hard as in stiff? Or just reluctant to start?

No im sorry i meant it starts as in reluctant to start.

Okay. It's nothing binding then.
Have you checked operation of the choke?
Air leak? Have you re-torqued the head?

The head is torqued to 24nm or 1.8kg, it seems to go a bit better with the choke. When i start the engine when its cold with the choke the idle goes higher than usual but it brings itself straight back down. I don't know if its an airleak i hope not anyway.

Just to update that i have found out the problem, the piston was upside down and as soon as i turned it and started the engine she worked normally. I feel like an idiot but i am happy that it was a simple problem. Cheers !!

School boy error. (We have all made daft mistakes) good news, i hope you get to enjoy it now. I have almost the same set up, except for the carb. Good luck. My timing is set to 16 degrees btdc. My head is machined, no packer at bottom of barrel.

Hey Nik221, mine will be on the road at the end of Feb. my set up, 210 kit, 60mm mazza crank, head machined barrel on deck, light flywheel, reworked T5 carb with cosa float cover, bgm fast flow tap, casings ported for kit, inlet opened to match carb as is carb box. 8:1 compression. 16 degrees btdc timing. Mk1 clutch with sip banded basket std plates and malossi springs, late px gearbox with shorter fourth gear. My mate has almost identical set up and he got 18 hp and 14 lbft torque. It is a tank, two third throttle open and sitting at 65 to 70 mph gps. Not a screamer bit a grunty tourer. That is also two up with full camping gear on. Once i am running it i will update. When is your 220 gonna be on the road Nik? Cheers

Thanks for the reply

I have been riding her for the past 2 weeks and she goes like the clappers but the rh polini exhaust is anoying since all the power comes late in high rpm's wich i hate because i don't like to hear the engine scream that much. I have to get a new one thinking about the new BGM bigbox sport wich looks very nice on the dyno. I have the standard si 24/24 carb with the cosa float and sip fast flow tap ( waiting for them parts still

) and will drill the 2mm hole in the carb for the main jet for better gas flow. I have to say it is wierd that she goes a lot better without the air filter than with the filter. I would love to get a bigger carb again since i sold the 30 mil dellorto but i want it to be good on the MPG's so will see about that. Keep updating ! Cheers !
