Smooth from the longer rod? Yes. Less friction from moving at a less aggressive angle within the barrel.
I have an early one - basically stock, but electronic & 42mm clubman. Easily keeps up with stock 200s, just not quite as much torque sometimes.

I have just gone back to riding a tv3175... It is 100% original!as it left the factory.....the nicest scooter I have owned....by far!..still on points,acs tyres...love it!

Its the chaps barn where I bought it about 8 years ago, took pics before I loaded it up and brought it home 8-)

But the TV 175 is a special machine for sure , one of Innocenti's finest
