These are the pics of the opened up transfer port and the removal of the lower part of the skirt. As I said before these are tips that I picked up from this site (
http://www.worb5.com/malossi_210_211_dr ... alossi.htm) using Google translator.

Here's a shot of the transfer ports on the engine casing and yes I did go a bit mad and pop through on the LH transfer. But this is easily welded up and apparently its an easy mistake to make. The original Malossi gasket was matched to the cylinder ports as its a few millimeters too big and then the trimmed up gasket was used to transfer the marks onto the engine casing.

here is a couple of shots of the intake after it has been opened up match the reed vale manifold. I also removed some of the material around the inlet and the bearing to improve gas flow into the casing although its not very clear in the photos below. Again this will all be polished up and improved upon once the casings comes back from being repaired. Overall for a first attempt at anything on this scale I am pretty pleased with the results.

Very good , but I would recommend a vacuum fuel pump with the reed block as the carb will sit a lot higher than the bottom of the tank to avoid starvation. You can fit the suction adaptor to the reed block or in the casings whilst apart.

I made that mistake! Chemical metal is good for filling the hole if you don't have access to a good welder. It lasted 5 years. I used isopropyl alcohol to get rid of as much oil in the casing as possible before the chemical metal.

Its ok I picked the casing up from the local engineering shop and they did an excellent job welding up my mistakes. Will give the engine another quick once over and then sit and wait patiently for my outstanding parts to turn up.

Rich, you have nearly got the picture thing sorted.
when you go onto flickr, click the picture you want, you will see an arrow bottom right, click, copy all of the highlighted blue section and also check the size of the picture, there are about 5 or 6 options. Then paste the url that you have copied onto the reply of the forum, its usually about 2 lines long.
