This (it must be a Yorkshire thing as I have always shot my load b4 entering). Alternatively my matchstick + aldite alternative to block the passage (not so good if you have premature lubrication) are the only ways wot eye nowz toow stop that carb sucking air through the oil channel deffinitavely.

I came late to vespas  but I love auto lube, why remove it ??
I'm running a 19hp diablo built polini 225 and it works well.

some people (myself included) like mixing their oil, and a lot of autolubes are getting on a bit, the small toothed pump drive cog isn't the most robust , and ive seen a few fail, with catastrophic results (the latest being a 6 year old LML I did 2 weeks ago) I run a bigger carb , so I cant run autolube. also some people like to vary the quantity of oil for the circumstances (i.e. 2% round town, 3% on a run etc.) it just takes another thing that can fail out of the equation.

I'm getting lazy and mixing oil is one more thing I could do without every 80 miles.
I should have stayed with the DR180 conversion

Never ran an engine with autolube, so I don't know if they're good or bad.... but I like to mix me own - it's part of the 2 stroke experience... and that way I know there's oil in it.

Hi all
Want to dissconnect the autolube on a PX 200. I have a blanking plug for when the shaft is removed but the tray has a ridge from the autolube mechanism that looks like it will not let the tray sit flush when fitted. No one mentions removing the autolube mechenism when doing this, is this correct?
Tks
Gary

I always take the shaft out blank hole with correct plug from sip then fill the oil track underneath the carb box with chemical metal then change gasket as well. Like some one said belt and braces approach for about a £5 better then a knackered engine that drew air in.

Tks Ducksta,
does the tray sit correctly when refitted? Like I say the lip on mechanism sits in the hole you have just filled with the Sip plug, if you get what i mean?

Yep the little cup on the bottom needs cutting off then filing flush or it will draw air in
