I can live with leaving the inside bottom of the fork just etch primed, but I'm still going to have to clout the feckers with a hammer to get the links in. The central metal bushes are slightly longer than the nylon/plastic outer bushes. A delicate bit of fettling may be required
Slap a shed load of grease in there Mark...

Well, I filed a bit off each side of the steel bush, MAKING SURE IT STILL PROTRUDES BEYOND THE PLASTIC BUSH
and managed to get one in although still snug (no grease on the fecker yet). Didn't need much filed off. Just got the other one to do
